Tell me about your background:
About 35 years ago I was working for my father, and I used to like working with his tools, socializing in the factory space so I said I might as well start to do something myself, and I've been running other companies as well, so the time came in the last 10 years to do my ow which is, was the greatest decision I ever made. Sometimes you have to get out of someone else's shoes and stay in your own and I'm loving it, I'm loving the adventures I get.
We get all different couches made up, chairs, all custom made, nothing is the same stuff everyday it's a challenge, we needed a challenge, and we succeeded 100% satisfaction.
Can you describe your journey in the industry and any pivotal moments?
The most memorable moment was my first couch I reupholstered it was a chesterfield couch; it took me about 1 year. But the customers loved it, and they were waiting and waiting and they never said nothing, and I actually have never touched one again. It's a lot of measuring and time consuming a lot of time-consuming work. Never doing that again. I won't even price it anymore. Won't even price it.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
The best piece of advice I have ever received was from my father, he taught me in the early years - never rush a job. You rush, you stuff it up, take your time and you can pay more attention to detail once it's finished. When it's finished then you can see the end of the piece. If you are happy then send it out, if you are not - keep it back and do it again.
Thats the best advice I have ever got. I follow it to this day. One thing is I never get no comebacks. Grateful. I make sure my work is 100% and everyone is happy. That is the best advice actually.

What is your favourite part about your work?
Ah, for me it's the challenge. I like to do re upholstery. Everyday has to be a challenge. When you do something new every day you enjoy it more.
One word to describe your connection to your work?
Fulfilling, you have to enjoy what you do and that's what I am doing right now. I am enjoying it, as soon as I get bored, I will retire.
Anything else you want to add?
Trev, give me more work.
Standard day for me;
Start work about 6.30am, you come in and you start to cut your fabrics, you cut your foams, you glue the seats, glue the backs, sew the fabric it's just running around which I will never complain about, I love it. You do some chairs, then jump on the couches, then the beds, which is something that continues and you won't get bored.
I love a challenge. Thank you, KM, for the work it's been a pleasure working for you.
