We acquired the laser welder about 12 months ago. Since then, manufacturing has become much quicker work that used to take an hour now takes 20 minutes, and jobs that took four hours take about an hour and a half. It makes a big difference to how efficiently we can work.
This type of laser machine is great because the possibilities are endless. You can cut shapes out of material to bend it, and instead of making a mitre joint, you can cut pieces and bend them around for a better finish. It saves a lot of time, you can load the machine with five or six lengths, cut 200 pieces of whatever you need, stop, and go again. A job that once took 3–4 hours now takes half an hour, which is a big saving. In the long run, it’s really worth it.
